Studio Visit with Leo Casteneda

A couple weeks ago I was in Miami and had the chance to visit a dear friend of mine’s studio. Leo and I attended high school together at New World School of the Arts.

He is currently working on a beautiful series based off concepts derived from video games. The mixture of story line and levels, mixed with carefully painted landscapes, and beautifully executed spills result in a captivating world you can sink into.

Leo’s solo exhibition will open tomorrow at the Artseen Gallery in Wynwood.

I recently got married on September 25th 2011 to Sean Prestidge! I’ll use that as my excuse for not posting…hehehe. The wedding was beautiful and I could not imagine a better man to be married to. Now I’m back in the studio with a new name and some new work. Keep you posted!

I thought posting these would be fun. Unfortunately my lack of posting has to do with the fact that I’m getting married in 3 months. Luckily there are some creative aspects to wedding planning. Whoa! What week are we in? Here are some images I have been meaning to post for a long time. The piece I have been working on and finally finished I’ve titled For My Sisters in Japan. This piece is really special to me. In it’s very beginning stages the earthquake that caused the devastating tsunami in Japan had just hit. As I was working on this piece I couldn’t stop thinking about Japan and it became a kind of reaction piece to the event that was really shaking to the world. Take a look.
